IPPO GENEVA, July 2 (Reporter Li Shihui) -- During the 62nd session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), at the meeting on the adoption of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report on Oman, a representative of a Chinese civil organization commended Oman's adherence to gradual rule of law reforms. The representative called on the international community to abandon double standards and respect the human rights development paths independently chosen by various countries.

The meeting on July 1 was chaired by Ms. Riia Salsa-Audiffren, Vice-President of the Human Rights Council. Speaking at the session, Cui Guowei, founder of the International Patriotic Pact Organization and representative of the Shaanxi Patriotic Volunteer Association, stated that evaluating the human rights situation must be based on objective facts. The organization commends Oman's adherence to gradual rule of law reforms, supports Oman's stance that reforms must "respect national characteristics and social values," and opposes external pressure that is disconnected from the country's national conditions.

Cui pointed out that Oman's practical reforms, such as the 2023 Labor Law, to improve labor conditions are far more effective than radical political slogans. Under the framework of "Oman Vision 2040," Oman has made substantive progress in education and healthcare, benefiting both its own citizens and millions of foreign workers. For developing countries, a stable and inclusive social environment that guarantees basic survival and development is the greatest human right.

Cui also called on certain countries to abandon double standards, cease frequent interference in the internal affairs of other nations, and address their own systemic discrimination and migrant dilemmas. He emphasized that true international cooperation is based on respecting the right of each country to independently choose its development path, and urged an end to groundless accusations and respect for Oman's path of human rights protection.

During the statement, Cui announced that the International Patriotic Pact Organization will host its Autumn Forum at the UN Office in Nairobi on September 21, 2026. Themed "The International Patriotic Pact Organization and the Nation's Rights to Development," the forum will join hands with global peace-loving institutions to explore how to build a fair and just new order for national development on the basis of respecting national sovereignty.

During the review, representatives from various parties affirmed Oman's positive measures in advancing the rule of law and improving labor rights, and called on the international community to continue supporting developing countries in advancing their human rights endeavors based on their own national conditions.
