IPPO, New York, February 13 (Reporter: Li Shihui) During the 63rd session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development, a side event titled "International Patriotic Pact Organization Forum: The Contribution of Family Businesses to Social Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" was successfully held in Conference Room 9 at United Nations Headquarters (New York) from 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM (New York time) on February 13th. The event was co-hosted by the International Patriotic Pact Organization (IPPO) and non-governmental organizations including the Shaanxi Patriotic Volunteer Association.

The meeting aimed to explore the unique role of family businesses in promoting global social development and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as to facilitate exchange and cooperation among family businesses, policymakers, scholars, and non-governmental organizations. Relevant international organizations such as the United Nations Commission for Social Development, the Global Communications Department, and UN Web TV provided strong support and assistance to the meeting, with UN Web TV broadcasting the entire event live.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Wang Junzhan, Chairman of Hehe Zongheng (Beijing) International Culture Co., Ltd., who introduced the background and purpose of the meeting to the participants. Mr. Cui Guowei, Chairman of the International Patriotic Pact Organization, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizers, emphasizing the important position of family businesses in the global economy and introducing IPPO's international patriotic philosophy of "love our own country, cannot sacrifice the interests of other countries".

Mr. Amir A. Dossal, former Director of the UN Office for Global Partnerships and Founder of the Global Partnerships Forum, stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership in achieving the SDGs and proposed utilizing new technologies to enhance the capacity-building of family businesses and cultivating the next generation of successors.

Dr. Rebecca Harper, Founder of the Family Civilization Institute, pointed out that family businesses play an irreplaceable role in promoting the achievement of the SDGs and shared the institute's successful experiences in supporting small family businesses led by women.

Dr. Ronald King, UN Representative of the Association of Christian Counsellor of Nigeria, shared successful cases of Nigerian family businesses in promoting economic development, creating job opportunities, and reducing poverty.

In addition, Ms. Alejandra Molina, Investment Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, and Mr. Gerard Keon, Publisher of BlackTie International Magazine, expressed their opinions on the opportunities and challenges faced by family businesses in achieving the SDGs.

After the keynote speeches, the on-site participants actively interacted with the main speakers. They expressed high expectations for the continued holding of the International Patriotic Pact Organization UN Forum and looked forward to co-hosting future sessions.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Cui Guowei, on behalf of the organizers, presented traditional Chinese calligraphy works titled "Heavenly Officer Bestows Blessings" to the participants as a token of good wishes.

The successful holding of this meeting raised the awareness of the participants about the Second World Summit for Social Development, which will be held in Qatar in November 2025.
