Series of Events for the United Nations International Day of Peace: Celebrating the 79th Anniversary of the Founding of the United Nations and the United Nations Forum of the International Patriotic Pact Organization Held in Beijing

Beijing, October 24 (IPPO Reporter Zhang Hua) United Nations 2024 International Day of Peace Series of Events: Celebrating the 79th Anniversary of the Founding of the United Nations and the United Nations Forum of the International Patriotic Pact Organization was held in Beijing today. This event was hosted by the Shaanxi Patriotic Volunteer Association of the International Patriotic Pact Organization and was particularly supported and organized by Shaanxi Patriotic Industry Co., Ltd.

The theme of this year's International Day of Peace is "Fostering a Culture of Peace," aiming to promote global ceasefires and non-violence, and achieve peace and stability. The event was chosen to coincide with United Nations Day on October 24 to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and to take this opportunity to demonstrate to the world the aspirations and expectations of the International Patriotic Pact Organization and the International Patriotic Pact Initiative for world peace.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the host warmly welcomed the participating guests and introduced the background and significance of the event. Subsequently, Mr. Cui Guowei, Chairman of the International Patriotic Pact Organization and President of the Shaanxi Patriotic Volunteer Association, delivered a keynote speech. He reviewed the development journey of the association, which has grown into an influential international organization since its establishment in 2014, voicing the opinions of Chinese patriotic volunteers on the international stage.

In his speech, Cui Guowei emphasized that "love our own country, cannot sacrifice the interests of other countries" is the core philosophy of the International Patriotic Pact Organization. He mentioned that since the International Patriotic Pact Initiative was proposed at the United Nations Human Rights Council in September 2022 and the International Patriotic Pact Organization was established, the organization has received signatory support from over 130 non-governmental organizations in 45 countries, making positive contributions to promoting the International Patriotic Pact Initiative and global peace and development.

The forum also invited representatives from the embassies of Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lesotho, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and other countries, as well as heads of International Patriotic Pact Organizations from various countries, to participate and deliver speeches.

Mr. Patrick Ebi Jimmy, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Nigeria in China, emphasized the role of the international patriotic concept in exploring new paths for sustainable development and global peace governance in his speech. He believed that in the new global landscape, countries should expand the concept of patriotism to include commitments to the global community for common prosperity.

Mr. Emmanuel Desfourneaux, the initiator of the International Patriotic Pact Organization in France and co-founder of the Eurasia Cultural Research Institute, emphasized that dialogue among different civilizations is the source of a culture of peace and acknowledged China's efforts in promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. Liu Dian, associate researcher at the China Institute of Fudan University, explored the relationship between patriotism and global governance of artificial intelligence from an international perspective, emphasizing the importance of openness, inclusivity, and win-win cooperation. Ms. Renata Penchova, the initiator of the International Patriotic Pact in Macedonia, called for the establishment of a long-term deliberative mechanism to ensure that countries do not harm the interests of others while pursuing their own development.

In addition, several experts and scholars from Turkey, France, China, and other places conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as the international patriotic concept, sustainable development, and global governance.

At the end of the event, Cui Guowei, on behalf of the International Patriotic Pact Organization, presented honorary certificates to representatives of the diplomatic corps in China and participating guests who were initiators of the "International Patriotic Pact" and took a group photo to commemorate the occasion.

The successful holding of this forum not only showcased the positive image of Chinese patriotic volunteers on the international stage but also injected new impetus into promoting the International Patriotic Pact Initiative and global peace and development. In the future, the International Patriotic Pact Organization will continue to collaborate with patriotic organizations from various countries to jointly explore new paths for sustainable development and global governance, contributing to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
